Build a bathroom you can enjoy for years.
Remember the avocado bathrooms of the 70s? How about the pink bathrooms of the 60s?

Colors were on full display at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in February – and it was giving us flashbacks!
You’ll get no judgment from us if you’d pick a colorful bathroom! Your bathroom is the place in your home where you should feel most at home. You should select the colors, patterns and features that create the space you want.
That said…it’s a lot easier to love a color you’re not obligated to. Green walls are easier to change than a green toilet. A hot pink shower curtain or towels can easily be swapped out when your tastes change. Hot pink tiles…not so much.
When you’re planning your bathroom, it’s worth considering the elements you should commit to long-term. At KBIS, we saw a lot of striking colors – yellow sink or teal toilet, anyone? – and textures. While you might love a rattan door now, is it puppy love or a long-term relationship?
Short-term commitments include bathroom linens, paint colors, hardware, faucets, and accessories like mirrors…even lighting. You can swap those out with a bit of money and elbow grease.
Where you might want to be a little less ‘out there’ is your fixtures. Your tile. Toilet. Bath or shower. And your vanity. You can add interest and contrast to your vanity in your choice of countertop (we love the Admiral Quartz Top!) or finish – a striking Shades of Distinction Midnight vanity would be a strong statement piece.
If a bathroom renovation is in your future, rest assured that we’re keeping our eye on the trends – and watching out for the fads – in bathroom design, and we’re updating our collections regularly with finishes and features that will stand the test of time (so you won’t have an avocado bathroom in your future!).
